A chamber larp is a short live-action roleplay game — a few hours long, set in a small enclosed space, often a single room. The term comes from chamber theatre, which shares a similar structure: tight narrative focus, contained setting. No costumes or elaborate staging required. The rulebook is built around these constraints, with mechanics designed to make the story work within the time and space you have.
Our chamber larps have lightweight rules and clear structures: we tell you who you are, where you are, and what you want. The rest you build together, wherever you like, in a couple of hours.
Let's take Moths - Drawn to the End as a practical example.
1. Download the PDF from Itch.io. The rulebook contains everything: character sheets, instructions for each phase, and the mechanics to build tension and guide the story toward its final, irreversible decision.
2. Find your players and set aside about an hour and a half. No additional preparation or prior larp experience required.
3. Each player reads their own character sheet in private — then everyone gathers around a table. An interrogation room. One night. Four people searching for the truth, or perhaps hiding it.
4. The game unfolds in three phases of increasing intensity. As clues and secrets surface, trust begins to crack — until the final, irreversible decision.
All our chamber larps are available to download. If you enjoy what we do, consider supporting us.
